Buchanan Bumped

By Pete Papaherakles

The no-holds-barred truth about so-called diversity and multiculturalism discussed in a new book by veteran conservative Pat Buchanan called Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025? has the establishment media and liberal activist groups in a tizzy. MSNBC’s president Phil Griffin felt prompted to fire the political commentator and national icon from his usual post at the cable news network.

Buchanan, a three-time presidential candidate, senior adviser to three presidents, author of many books including six on the New York Times bestseller list, founding member of three major political talk shows and arguably the top political thinker of our time, was employed by MSNBC to add political legitimacy to an otherwise hard-left ideology.

The network could not withstand the political pressure mounted against it by black activist groups like Color of Change and Credo, the ADL of B’nai B’rith, militant gay and civil rights groups—all of whom took offense at the indisputable facts cited in Buchanan’s book. They hurled at him the usual epithets of paleoconservative, white supremacist, bigot, hater, racist, anti-Semite, homophobe and xenophobe.

The ADL’s Abe Foxman commented: “It is especially disturbing that he continues to espouse his views at a mainstream network like MSNBC, where he is presented as a knowledgeable and respected analyst. Buchanan continues to show his true colors by espousing hateful, bigoted statements in his book.”

Fox News host Gregg Jarrett commented about the double standard at MSNBC. He pointed out that, while essentially firing Buchanan for allegations of racism, they awarded Al Sharpton his own show after he made racist remarks against whites.

In Suicide of a Superpower, Buchanan describes the obvious decline of America by stating that it was born as a Western Christian republic but it transformed into “a multiracial, multicultural, multilingual, multiethnic stew of a nation that has no successful precedent in the history of the world.” He adds: “Our government is engaged in the manic pursuit of equality and rewards, as it seeks to erect an egalitarian utopia that has never before existed. Less and less do Americans have in common. More and more do we fight over religion, morality, politics, history and heroes. And as our nation disintegrates, our government is failing in its fundamental duties to defend our borders, balance our budgets or win our wars.”

He also points to the suicidal export of our manufacturing base to Red China, which is poised to displace us as a superpower. In the last decade we have lost 6 million manufacturing jobs overseas and shut down a staggering 55,000 factories while tripling our national debt and unemployment rate.

In contrast, the public seems to recognize Buchanan’s genius, commonsense work. Amazon reviewers, by a seven-to-one margin, give the book high marks. And we think you will too.
