The Aborted Baby Business: It’s Bigger Than You Think

• New videos reveal shocking extent of grisly racket.

Since AMERICAN FREE PRESS’s initial report on undercover video exposing Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) recently released even more videos showing PPFA executives haggling over prices of body parts of aborted babies, which has resulted in the loss of state funds for the parent organization. So far, it’s looking pretty good for pro-life activists.

The CMP is an investigative group of journalists led by David Robert Daleiden. Its mission is to prove that PPFA is conducting illegal abortions to harvest intact organs to sell to major tissue procurement companies such as Novagenix and StemExpress.

Recently, CMP activists posed as a tissue procurement company called Biomax. They set up a series of interviews with top PPFA executives, giving them the impression that Biomax was looking to partner up with them in their organ trafficking business. In truth, actors secretly videotaped the meetings and CMP has been releasing them one by one to the public.

Since the release of the videos, Daleiden has been taken to court in an attempt to stop more videos from coming out. A company affiliated with PPFA, StemExpress, managed to get the Los Angeles superior court to block CMP from releasing any video taken of three high-ranking StemExpress officials that CMP met with at a restaurant in May. “StemExpress is attempting to use meritless litigation to cover up this illegal baby parts trade, suppress free speech and silence the citizen press reporting on issues of burning concern to the American public,” said a July 29 CMP statement.

This temporary restraining order will be effective until the hearing on August 19.

On August 3, Senate Democrats blocked a bill to defund PPFA in Congress, but many Republicans say the war is far from over.

So far, the New Hampshire state legislature has voted to defund PPFA of $639,000, which is a third of what it gets from taxpayers annually in that state. Louisiana and Alabama have terminated Medicaid contracts for PPFA. Seven other states have begun immediate investigations of PPFA since the videos were released.

A fourth undercover video includes an interview with Dr. Savita Ginde, vice president and medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM). Dr. Ginde was caught negotiating prices with CMP investigators. She even suggested ways to skirt the law, saying “putting it under ‘research’ gives us a little bit of an overhang over the whole thing.”

The most shocking part of the video was when the meeting was moved to PPRM’s lab where Dr. Ginde and others are seen standing over a Petri dish, combing through an aborted fetus with a pair of tweezers looking to identify and separate what organs they could use for sale. While Dr. Ginde was negotiating with the actors on how they would go about pricing, a medical assistant, who was dissecting organs, cheerfully announced, “Another boy!”

A fifth video captured yet another PPFA executive, Dr. Melissa Farrell, negotiating pricing and confessing to altering abortions to obtain intact organs. Most interesting was when CMP investigators asked Dr. Farrell if her clinic can change abortion procedures to supply intact fetal specimens. Farrell said: “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.” Daleiden told CNN that his upcoming video provides evidence showing that “Planned Parenthood is willing to sell fully intact fetuses” and the only way to obtain a fully intact fetus is killing it after birth.

The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000. Federal law also requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection.
