Is Planned Parenthood’s Goal Black Infanticide?

Right-to-life issues have been especially heavy in Congress since just before, during and after the first-ever United States visit of a sitting pope whose church embodies the concept of the protection and dignity of all human life, from the pre-born to the elderly. But the irony surrounding Pope Francis’s September, 2015 visit has reached new, unsettling lows.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) sells the tissue and organs of aborted babies but it has not had its offices immediately raided by armed federal agents—a miracle in itself, since Congress shouldn’t have to act for a justifiable raid to happen. Perhaps worse, though, it has also been revealed that PPFA has wasted millions on travel and lavish theme parties, according to Representative Jason E. Chaffetz (R-Utah). PPFA receives over $500 million from U.S. taxpayers every year.

The head of the House Oversight Committee specified that PPFA misspent more than $40 million in federal money including first-class flights, charter travel and entertainment costs that included $622,706 on “blowout parties” with celebrity guests. Some of the parties were named “Gathering of Goddesses and Gods,” “Chocolate Champagne” and “Murder Mystery,” as described in a committee report released during the panel’s September 29 hearing.

“The findings were the results of [an] . . . investigation into Planned Parenthood’s spending, in which the committee analyzed several years of tax returns,” noted The Hill, a Washington daily focused on Congress. “The oversight report details Planned Parenthood’s total of $5,109,997 on travel in 2013, which averaged approximately $14,000 a day.”

Chaffetz also inquired about the salary of PPFA President Cecile Richards, a former deputy chief of staff to Nancy Pelosi, who defiantly appeared before the committee for the first time that day. “That’s money that’s not going to women’s healthcare,” Chaffetz remarked.

“The committee’s report also noted Planned Parenthood’s real estate holdings, including $34.8 million for its corporate office space near Madison Square Garden in New York City in 2011. In 2015, it sold a 72,000-square-foot condominium to Brookfield Property Partners for $69.6 million,” The Hill added.

Ms. Richards’s appearance would not have happened were it not for the release of several undercover videos on PPFA’s fetal tissue sales-for-profit program. Those videos have sparked a GOP push in Congress to halt the group’s federal funding.

While Ms. Richards tried to say that the GOP effort to defund PPFA was based on misinformation, she also defended PPFA’s non-abortion services, citing its role in breast cancer screenings, disease testing and birth control, while claiming that PPFA clinics are often the only choice for women in need. This remark is of dubious accuracy since every county in America has a health department with clinics for women, infants and the poor, and the multi-millions in federal funding behind PPFA clearly creates a quasi-monopoly for that organization’s clinics.

As if that weren’t enough, when the Congressional Black Caucus held a press conference September 28 promoting what it calls “Planned Parenthood’s critical work in African American and low-income communities across the country,” a major bit of history on the organization’s dark roots was overlooked.

Congressional Black Caucus members Representatives Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.), Donna Edwards (D-Md.) and Alma Adams (D-N.C.) joined PPFA patients on Capitol Hill at that press conference. Their news release noted that these patients, dependent on PPFA for “vital reproductive and sexual healthcare services,” shared personal stories—describing the “obstacles” they say women of color encounter in accessing “safe, legal abortions and other reproductive health services.”

Absent from such news conferences, however, is the blunt fact that the late Margaret Louise Higgins Sanger, who founded organizations that evolved into PPFA, actively and openly promoted putting most abortion facilities in black and other minority neighborhoods. Her agenda was to reduce problem demographics through abortion.

Today, more than three-fourths of PPFA clinics are in minority communities. Yet, while blacks make up around 12% of the population, black women account for 35% of American abortions. Ms. Sanger’s many critics say she created the Negro Project to sterilize unknowing black women and others she deemed as “undesirables.”

Sanger, a heroine worshipped by abortion advocates, reportedly said, “We do not want word to go out, that we want to exterminate the Negro population. . . .” The Congressional Black Caucus is silent on this matter.

Yet the abortions performed since the 1973 Roe v Wade Supreme Court ruling legalizing them over a complete misconception of privacy have taken a major toll on the white population as well—in a world where most European families (and most white American families of European extraction) are committing democide by not having enough children to maintain, let alone increase, white populations.

While reliable statistics about abortion’s toll on whites are hard to find, LifeNews.com noted: “Abortion has destroyed not only one generation of Americans but a second as well—people who should be boosting the fertility rate in their childbearing years now who were victims of abortions in the 1970s and 1980s. In total, more than 55 million Americans are been victimized by abortions and millions more were never born because their parents were aborted.”

In a related matter, H.R.36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, has been stalled in the Senate. However, as September concluded, the House passed this bill 242-184 with five legislators not voting. This bill prohibits an abortion from being performed once the pre-born child has reached 20 weeks in the womb—a threshold when the pre-born are said to feel pain.

The usual exceptions involving rape, incest and the life of the mother are there. But more documentation is required to prove a rape really happened. The bill also permits doctors to terminate a pregnancy in those cases only in a manner that provides the best chance for the pre-born child to survive. That resembles “the principle of double effect,” meaning that when the mother’s life appears to be in danger, the object is to try and save both the mother and the child and not intentionally kill the newborn, nor intentionally allow the mother to die.
