Once a “Conspiracy Theory,” Bio Labs in Ukraine Now Admitted

Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland confirmed this week that Ukraine does indeed have biological research labs.

Rumors have been flying on social media and popular internet message boards for weeks: biological warfare and research labs, funded by the U.S. government, have been in operation in Ukraine for years, a little-known fact that the Russian’s uncovered and were possibly attempting to neutralize in their special military operation launched just over two weeks ago on February 24.

Quickly dismissed by the gatekeepers of political discourse in the fake news mass media and by system-affirming “fact checkers” as a baseless “conspiracy theory,” it turns out Ukraine does indeed have biological research facilities, a fact confirmed by none other than Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, a key player long involved in the manipulation and destabilization of Ukraine and a fanatical anti-Russian neocon hawk.

Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee earlier this week, Nuland was asked by Senator Marco Rubio point blank: Does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?

“Ukraine has biological research facilities, which in fact we are now quite concerned Russian troops, Russian forces may be seeking to gain control of,” Nuland responded in part. The exchange is well worth watching:

Russian and Chinese officials have alleged that not only did Ukraine have active biological research facilities on its territories, but they were funded and overseen by the U.S. government and could have been used for biological warfare purposes.

“We confirm the facts, discovered during the special military operation in Ukraine, of the emergency cleanup by the Kiev regime of traces of the military biological program, carried out by Kiev with funding from the U.S. Department of Defense,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement on March 8. “Documents were obtained from employees of Ukrainian biological laboratories about emergency disposal of particularly dangerous pathogens of plague, anthrax, tularemia, cholera and other deadly diseases, carried out on February 24. In particular, we are talking about the Ukrainian Health Ministry order on prompt disposal of all stockpiles of dangerous pathogens, sent to all bio laboratories.”

Zakharova explained that Russian specialists were investigating the situation, but it was clear that “the laboratories located in direct proximity from Russian borders worked on development of components of biological weapons.”

Also on March 8, the Chinese Foreign Ministry made similar claims about U.S.-funded biological research labs on Ukrainian territory, noting that the U.S. has over 300 such labs in 30 countries around the world, including 26 in Ukraine alone. The Chinese and Russians have insisted on transparency and have called for the Americans “to give a full account of its biological military activities at home and abroad and subject itself to multilateral verification.”

Just yesterday, Igor Kirillov, Chief of Russia’s radiation, chemical and biological protection force, stated that the research conducted at the labs in Ukraine came under the direct guidance of American specialists.

“One of the documents confirms that all high-risk studies are conducted under the direction of specialists from the U.S.,” Kirillov said, referring to the documents Russia came into possession.

Russian officials have now taken their concerns to the UN Security Council, requesting a meeting to investigate the matter.
