• It’s wrong to blame Trump for anger of electorate.
By Victor Thorn —
For months, tired old GOP establishment hacks such as Republican operative Karl C. Rove, former Massachusetts Governor Willard Mitt Romney, Senator John S. McCain III (Ariz.), Senator Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.), and Senate Majority Leader Addison Mitchell “Mitch” McConnell, Jr. (Ky.) have been erupting in paroxysms over presidential contender Donald J. Trump’s popularity among newly energized Republicans. Via the ballot box, these voters are saying loud and clear, “Don’t blame us for any trouble. It’s their fault for abandoning Republican voters.”

Indeed, with full control of both the Senate and House of Representatives, the GOP machine has still been utterly impotent in putting up any fight against President Barack Hussein Obama’s anti-American policies. After millions of dollars were bamboozled from rank-and-file Republicans, along with umpteen assurances, GOP bigwigs went along with Obama’s illegal alien amnesty scheme, funded Obamacare, backed internationalist trade deals, failed to prevent an influx of Middle Eastern refugees, and buckled on Planned Parenthood.
At this time, Republicans control more seats in Congress than they have in nearly 100 years. They hold a majority of governorships and have won elections for state offices all across the country. Still, powerful enablers on Capitol Hill gave Obama a pass at virtually every turn.
On March 9, AMERICAN FREE PRESS interviewed Jonathon D. Hill, who was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives 8th district as a Republican in 2014.
Hill explained the discontent that he sees: “When Republicans make promises and then fail to deliver, people eventually get tired of it. They’re sick of being told to shut up. For example, Obama has not been held responsible for what happened in Benghazi. Had this been a Republican president, he would have already been impeached or tried for treason.”
Hill continued: “The party itself has been used as a machine to protect the status quo. They keep GOP leaders in power, but they don’t stand for anything. When John Boehner raised the debt ceiling again last year, it hurt our party a lot. It’s an abandonment of our values.”
Adding another layer, Hill stated: “The Republican and Democrat leadership primarily only cares about their own self-interests, which means raising money and getting reelected. Plus, their lifestyles are so far removed from everyday Americans that they can no longer identify with their struggles. To them, government is a giant piggy bank, and they use the money for whatever they want with no consequences. They forget that it’s real people’s lives and real people’s money that they’re dealing with.”
On March 9, AFP also contacted small-business owner Allen Olson, who originally founded and chaired the Columbia Tea Party in South Carolina.
Olson voiced his frustrations to AFP: “The GOP Congress hasn’t done a darn thing to stop Obama’s agenda. The Republican elite capitulated to Democrats, or catered to special interest groups. Legislators took us for granted by refusing to address the debt or trade. We’re tired of their lip service, and at this point we won’t take it anymore.”
Olson next turned his attention to the Republican frontrunner: “Donald Trump is a movement, just like the tea party march on Washington, D.C. in 2009. He’s tapped into blue-collar voters who don’t have a voice. People are turning to Trump because they can no longer tolerate politicians who haven’t fulfilled their roles when elected to office. Trump isn’t beholden to any special interest groups, and that’s why so many of us are turning to him as an outsider. All of us are thrilled that Jeb Bush isn’t the nominee.”
