Renowned Sheriff Tells AFP: ‘Gun Control Against the Law’

By Dave Gahary

Former Arizona Sheriff Richard I. Mack, best known for his landmark victory lawsuit against the Clinton administration’s illegal application of the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, more commonly referred to as the Brady Bill, is continuing his mission of educating Americans on gun control. And in his latest book, The MAGIC of Gun Control, Mack keeps no powder dry when discussing the legality of gun control in this country.

A Constitutional scholar who has spent many decades studying the supreme law of our land, Mack sat down with AMERICAN FREE PRESS in an exclusive interview to discuss his book.

First he explained why he chose the title for his book with a word he coined, polimagician, which is a contraction of the words politician and magician.

“Polimagicians want you to believe that all the policies that history has made very clear to us that have been complete failures, that somehow in America today, they’re magic. They’ll work now, even though they’ve never worked before in world history,” explained Mack.

“Yeah, we know Hitler did it and it didn’t work, we know Mussolini did it, we know Castro did it, we know Pol Pot did it, we know all these horrible Communist dictators promoted gun control and it never worked, and we know it was racist and we know it was enslaving and we know it was destructive, but in America we can do it now because it’s magic.”

Mack points the finger at the mainstream media as being accomplices in making Americans, the audience, believe in the illusion.

“If you want magic,” said Mack, “go to Disneyland or go see David Copperfield. The magic of gun control is being promoted by the best illusionists in America.”

“There are over 24,000 gun control laws in America, and they’re all unconstitutional,” explained Mack.

Ironically, to make his point, Mack writes that “where guns are most prevalent, crime is at its lowest, and where gun control is most stringent, crime is at its highest.”

As he says, “You are either armed or you are a target.”

“Whether you like guns or not, whether you approve of guns or not, it’s really immaterial,” said Mack. “Gun control in America is against the law whether you like it or not.”

Mack compares efforts at gun control to Prohibition in the United States from 1919 till 1933, and writes that “significant historical evidence shows that laws of prohibition actually exacerbate the problem they were supposedly intended to resolve.”

Mack also explains in the book that “throughout history, where gun registration has been required by law, it has always been followed by confiscation, always.”

AFP asked if gun registration is something that the federal government is allowed to do.

Mack explained. “They have no regulatory authority over that which is guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. None is offered, none is allowed. In fact, their only job is to make sure that the Bill of Rights are enforced and guaranteed; that’s the purpose of government. They cannot regulate how or when or what I do to keep and bear arms.”

Mack also addressed the myth that calling 9-1-1 can save your life.

“I was in law enforcement for 20 years,” said Mack. “I actually supervised 9-1-1 communications in the police department I worked for in Utah and again when I was sheriff in Arizona, and I can honestly tell you that calling 9-1-1 usually results in us coming and investigating you as a victim. Very seldom do we get there in time to stop someone from killing you. It’s almost impossible. 9-1-1 should provide no comfort to anyone that your life will be saved.”

Since calling 9-1-1 is near useless when a victim is threatened by a would-be attacker, Mack offers this simple solution.

“There is no other method that brings greater safety and success than a gun, none. Not calling 9-1-1, not yelling, not screaming, not running, not fighting, not blowing a whistle, not Mace, not bows and arrows, not knives. Nothing provides better security and safety, and success of being safe and sound, after a would-be attack, than a handgun. Nothing.”

Besides gun control, the book touches on many subjects patriotic Americans should be concerned with.

“I not only bring up the magic associated with the lure and lies of gun control, but a lot of other things happening in Washington, D.C., as well, like land rights and political correctness in general, the destruction of our Constitution, Fast and Furious, and many other things of propaganda and media hype that try to destroy our Constitution and freedom,” said Mack.

“But there’s none more starkly and vividly apparent than the issue of gun control, because the Second Amendment makes it very clear, that in America, gun control is against the law.”

1 Comment on AUDIO INTERVIEW & ARTICLE: Sheriff Mack, ‘Gun Control Against the Law’

  1. In California, county sheriffs are given the prerogative of issuing or refusing to issue CCWPs. Each sheriff, other law enforcement officers, all military personnel, our President, etc., take an oath upon taking office to protect and defend the Constitution…all of it. Nowhere does the oath say that they individually or collectively can select portions of the Constitution to enforce or deny. This is illegal! How and why is this permitted? No law enforcement office or officer is above the law and when they make a conscious decision to disobey the law of the nation, they deserve to be fired, arrested and tried in a court of law—a court that actually follows the law, not some progressive, liberal interpretation of it. Just let me know when this happens, will you?
