Thought Police Won’t Stop Prosecuting Historians

The reunification of Germany in the 1990s was purchased by its people at a high price. Since that time, laws have been established that essentially destroy guarantees of freedom of opinion and speech set forth in German “Basic Law” (what Germany has instead of a constitution).

There is no German constitution. The Basic Law was imposed by the victors of World War II, a war that cost 30M European lives and almost half a million American lives.

Section 130 of the federal criminal code makes “incitement of the people,” even if the “people” is just one person, a crime against public order. And for approximately 20 years, thousands of German citizens have been persecuted by their government, merely for publicly expressing ideas contrary to officially imposed “truth.”

While the statute has been used recently to intimidate those defending human life against abortion and euthanasia and to silence critics of homosexuality, the real goal of the law is to protect Zionist interests and criminalize all questioning of the “gassing of at least 6 million Jews” by Nazis. Scientific research and public documents cannot be presented as a defense because Germany’s highest court long since declared that the “gas chambers” and the “6 million” figure are “well-known facts.” Arguing the truth in court often brings harsher sentences.

Just suggesting to another person that “only” a few hundred thousand Jews died of all causes under the Nazis can result in fines of thousands of euros, as Catholic Bishop Richard Williamson found out. Publishing contemporaneous government documents or recent chemical analyses of “death chambers” can land someone in prison for up to five years. There are no jury trials.

As many as 12K individuals are accused each year of “inciting the people.” And while only a fraction of cases are actually prosecuted, 2,530 people were brought to trial from 2006 to 2010, of whom 1,804, or 71.3%, were convicted and sentenced. Most paid large fines and lawyers’ fees, but more well-known “criminals”were also imprisoned.

A significant number of Revisionist historians from Ernst Zuendel to Germar Rudolf have spent years in German jails for telling the truth about WWII Germany. Currently, four men are political prisoners of the German Federal Republic: Horst Mahler (12 years and 11 months), Axel Moeller (30 months), Gerd Ittner (two years and nine months) and Guenter Deckert (five months just for editing a translation into German of the book, Auschwitz: The First Gassing). Mahler and Deckert are over 70 years old, but that makes no difference.
