Islamic Terrorists Sitting on an Arsenal of U.S. Weapons

• ISIS terrorists being armed by U.S. and its allies and nobody in government cares.

By Richard Walker —

In Iraq alone, the Islamic State (ISIS) is sitting on a United States arsenal worth billions of dollars, but that is only a fraction of the weapons Sunni terrorists have received from their Arab and Western benefactors. The reality is that Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Israel, with the help of President Barack Hussein Obama and his predecessor, George W. Bush, armed the elements that have become ISIS. As a result, ISIS is their creation. Some have even gone so far as to characterize the founding fathers as ISIS’s board of directors.

In 2014, ISIS overran the Iraqi army, capturing the city of Mosul and with it more than $1 billion in U.S. weaponry. ISIS later seized Ramadi and acquired more weapons of the type Washington has been handing out like candy to Iraq’s army and Sunni militias since 2003.

While many observers were shocked at the ability of ISIS to build such a large arsenal that included armored Humvees, tanks, missiles and guns of all kinds, no one focused on how Washington has been using the Middle East as a weapons dumping ground, or the fact that its Arab allies have been arming terror groups for decades. In the past couple of years, the axis of the West and terrorism has culminated in the West and its Arab allies becoming military benefactors to al Qaeda, the al-Nusra Front and ISIS.

After 9-11, the Bush and Obama administrations, with the approval of Congress, whose members continue to benefit from largesse spread by lobbyists representing oil-rich Arab states, ignored the fact that the Saudis and Qataris were funding Sunni terrorists, who were aligned with terrorists.

The oil-rich Saudi royals were also using their wealth to promote their extreme version of Islam—Wahhabism—which has become the cornerstone of ISIS ideology.

For the Saudis and Qataris, the game has always been to create a violent environment across the Middle East in which Sunnis will rise up to wipe out Shiites, whom they have branded, as they have Christians, heathens deserving a violent death. The Israelis have sought to sow discord and break up Arab states, making them less of a threat to its existence.

It is conveniently forgotten in Washington that after the invasion of Iraq in 2003, the Saudis financed and armed Sunni militias involved in the slaughter of U.S. soldiers. Several years ago, the Saudis and Qataris persuaded those same well-armed Sunnis, led by former generals from the late Saddam Hussein’s army, to bring a war to Syria to overthrow Bashar al-Assad. The Saudis and Qataris hoped a Sunnite takeover of Syria would weaken Shiites in the region and hand control of Syria’s energy resources to them. But, by financing the war in Syria, the Saudis and Qataris created a monster that morphed into ISIS.

While that hellish transformation was happening, Washington and Tel Aviv and their allies backed the Saudi-Qatari strategy of training and arming fictional “moderate militias” in Syria.

It is estimated that Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with Washington’s help, sent 200 transports loaded with weapons to Syria. The beneficiaries were al-Nusra and ISIS fighters.

It did not seem to matter to Washington that the Syrian conflict had the potential to spread into Iraq, which of course it did, providing ISIS with the opportunity to seize Mosul, and come within 50 miles of Baghdad.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin warned Obama that the war would spread across the region, but Obama dismissed his warning. Obama even ignored evidence that Qatar was encouraging ISIS to use chemical weapons in Syria so it could blame it on the Assad regime.

This writer drew readers’ attention to that fact in January 2014 in a special report, to wit:

In 2013, leaked documents from a British defense company revealed how Qatar had plotted to move chemical weapons from Libya to the Syrian city of Homs. The plan was to have militias use the weapons and then blame it on the Syrian regime. The leaked documents indicated Washington knew of the plan.

Despite this shocking revelation, Washington has continued to support these Arab states.

Missing from Western media reports is the fact that the Italian government is beginning to panic about the expanding role ISIS is playing in Libya and its stated desire to strike at Rome.

Libya is a mere 300 miles from Sicily and less than half that distance from the Italian island of Lampedusa. Russia has secretly proposed setting up a joint international military base on Lampedusa to strike at ISIS across Libya. The Italian, French and British like the idea, but Washington has not responded.

All of this has mattered little to Congress. In the past 18 months, Congress authorized the transfer of large quantities of arms to the Iraqi government and the sale of more than $90 billion of the most advanced weaponry to Saudi Arabia.
