Third Parties Offer Real Hope and Change

By Olga Belinskaya

Excluded from the national presidential debates, the top four third-party presidential candidates met on October 23 in Chicago for the first-of-its-kind, open, honest, fair and real debate. The candidates offered fresh, time-tested and commonsense solutions that can save the United States from tyranny and economic collapse.

The debate was organized by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation, “an all-partisan organization dedicated to uniting the grassroots movement for electoral reform,” because as famed television talk-show host Larry King, the debate moderator, said at the start of the event: “All voices should be heard.”

Jill Stein of the Green Party and Rocky Anderson of the Justice Party spoke of fairness and human rights. Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party stressed the need to balance the budget and prevent monetary collapse.

The Free and Equal debate offered real hope and change as it gave voice to real solutions and urged Americans to exercise their power and vote for the person they trust.

The candidates agreed with the majority of Americans that the establishment government and big money that control it are strangling the democratic republic and setting up tyranny. They agreed that the U.S. must stop policing the world and end undeclared wars of aggression. All but Goode said they supported ending the “war on drugs.”

The biggest disagreement was whether to focus on a balanced budget or invest in the country’s future. Anderson said free higher education for everyone is essential to keep America’s competitive edge in the global economy and to free students from living as indentured servants under undischargeable debt. Stein noted that $1 invested in education returns $7 to a refreshed, growing economy. Goode responded that America is $15T in debt and cannot afford free education. Johnson stressed that 43¢ of every dollar the federal government spends is borrowed, and the country is risking monetary collapse.

Pew Research Center found that 78% of Americans today distrust the government. According to USA Today, almost 40% of eligible voters do not intend to vote.

Mrs. Stein quoted author Alice Walker: “The biggest way people give up power is by not knowing they have it to start with.” Johnson added: “A wasted vote is a vote for someone you don’t believe in.”

Americans have the power to revive the United States if they vote for the president they believe in and make their voices heard.
