• U.S.-Israeli “special relationship” symposium planned
By John Friend
A Washington, D.C.-based non-profit specializing in American-Mideast foreign policy has announced what many consider to be a long overdue conference to critically address the so-called “special relationship” between the United States and Israel.
The Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (IRmep) “studies U.S.-Middle East policy formation” and maintains the Israel Lobby Archive, which “documents and provides citizen access to initiatives of one of the most harmful forces driving policy formulation in the U.S. political process,” according to IRmep’s official website.
The “harmful forces driving” U.S. public policy formulation, especially foreign policy, are, of course, the influential—and arguably illegal in many cases—networks of Jewish and pro-Israel think tanks and political lobbying organizations that, for all intents and purposes, control the federal government of the U.S., especially Congress and both major political parties at the national level.
The infamous Israel Lobby, utilizing its wide-ranging and subversive network of spies, agents, and assets, has been and continues to be involved with some of the most treacherous, nefarious dealings and criminal activities in American history, including the pilfering of U.S. nuclear and other military technology, a fact well documented by IRmep.
On March 7, 2014, IRmep is working with the Council for the National Interest, the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs monthly journal and the group If Americans Knew. The team of organizations will be sponsoring the “National Summit to Reassess the U.S.-Israel ‘Special Relationship,’” which will be held at the National Press Club in our nation’s capital.
“U.S. financial, military, and diplomatic support for Israel has grown significantly and steadily throughout the past 60 years and now dwarfs annual American foreign assistance to all other nations,” according to a press release issued by IRmep announcing the summit. “Research indicates the U.S.-Israel ‘special relationship’ is a major factor in foreign hostility toward Americans. Some experts suggest that Israel has been central to U.S. wars in the Middle East.”
Longtime AMERICAN FREE PRESS correspondent Michael Collins Piper has written extensively about the role of the organized Jewish community generally, and the neocon faction of the Republican Party specifically, in advocating, promoting and justifying the disastrous wars the American military currently finds itself engaged in throughout the Middle East and Southern Asia, largely on behalf of Israel and its geopolitical ambitions in the region.
Additionally, many researchers and journalists, including AFP’s own Victor Thorn, argue quite persuasively that Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, working in conjunction with pro-Israeli criminals and propagandists embedded within the American political and media establishment, were the key players in the conspiracy to bring about the events of 9-11. That seminal event in U.S. history has been used to justify the immoral and unAmerican wars of aggression in the foreign policy realm, along with enshrining the tyrannical abuses and subversions of the U.S. Constitution and traditional Western jurisprudence with which Americans are all too familiar.
“This historic summit will provide an in-depth, multifaceted inquiry into this critical subject matter,” the press release concludes. “Panelists will include former military and diplomatic personnel, intelligence officers, scholars, economists, researchers and a variety of other subject-matter experts and authors often shut out of key discussions in public forums and news media outlets.”
